This is something I decided to do to fill my days up, I'm not doing anything for the rest of the year, so you know.

The idea behind this that humanity has managed to build a single ship capable of FTL travel. The materials required to contruct it were exhausted in the solar system.

Rather than send out ships to system with potentially no useful materials, this ship is designed to flit over the galaxy, trasmitting co-ordinates back to earth of potentially useful planets. Gas giants are rarely considered useful, as are moons.

The ship is unable to travel distances greater than 1 kpc at a time, and has a max acceleration of 100 pc/s^2.

Broadcasts are sent via quantum entanglement, and as such only small amounts of text are viable per broadcast.

A secondary mission is the suggestion of sites for colonisation.

This is the PEC Sagan, prototype extrasolar planetary carrier.

[Message begin]
System: Proxima Centauri contains 9 planets. None are earthlike terrestrial.
Recomend survey ships survey all 9 planets.

System: Sirius {binary} contains 0 planets.
Recommend survey ships do not visit.
Potential opportunity to study gravitational properties of binary systems.

System: Betelguese contains 5 planets.
Recommend survey ships survey planets 1 and 2.

System: <SyMMu> Tau contains 11 Planets. Planets 8 and 9 are [semi]earthlike terrestrial.
Recommend Survey ships survey planets 1 through 11, excluding 10.
Recommend colony ships survey planets 8 and 9.

System: RS 8404-141-8-3603296-112 {binary} Contains 2 planets.
Recommend survey ships survey both planets.

The life bearing planet in question:

All suggesions are welcome, I'll try to update this once every few days at max, and include 1 image per post.
I'll also try to include some of the backstory in future logs.

[Personal additional begin]
The novelty of space travel is beginning to wear thin for many crew members.
I believe that many of the planets we have discovered are suitable for both survey and
colonisation. I feel our mission may soon become obsolete.
