The night sky of a terra with life close to the center of the Milky Way.

I found a terra with life with a moon that was also a terra with life. happy I think large craters like this one look really cool on grassy planets.


I've found a few planets with swirly patterns in the terrain like these two. They really interesting, and I wonder what would cause something like this to happen on a real planet.



Here's another one with strange terrain. It's shaped like the previous two, but with mountains instead of islands. The jagged tops make me think that mabey this isn't supposed to happen. tongue

Found a bunch of those too, interesting to think that civilizations on these planets would evolve for millions of years before realizing that there is life just next door.

^Well, from what I remember, people on Earth used to think there was life on the Moon and all the planets once it was realised they were worlds; it made sense after all: the single world people knew had life, and every strange continent and island that was discovered had it, so why not other worlds too? When the moon you're looking at every night isn't a bleak grey rock, but a lush green and blue world, that assumption seems an even more likely one. So I think that as soon as people would have the knowledge that allows them to wonder whether there is life elsewhere, they'd likely rightly assume there was life on their moon.

Yeah, but people have realized that only in the recent past. Think about the thousands of years we didn't have a clue what the sun or the moon or the stars were!

apenpaap, that's pretty common for them, especially for some small asteroids.

What is more miraculous than that is highly-elliptical orbits, so that when planet is near the sun, it's almost habitable world, and then it's wandering on outskirts of the system with -150 C on the surface.



I don't know if the universe is supporting these in a new version, but here's something from 095 - a little Mercury planet colliding with gas giant.

I haven't patched SpaceEngine, but as far as i know that doesn't change the universe, as I am still able to put legit stars into the biggest star thread.... odd...
