How about a Saturn-like gas giant with really large rings, and with one of it's poles facing toward its sun, like it had been knocked sideways similar to Uranus? This gives the rings a lot of light and there is virtually no ring shadow on the planet itself. It would be a very bright object if seen from a world closer in toward its sun I think.
