Well... Islutas is back, and with a big decision. Should it be the mascot planet of the WHOLE GAME?

Reasons:
-It has its own map with labeled continents

-It's like earth, and is local to earth, as shown on the map
-the community is at hard work understanding it.

Do we have a current mascot planet?

Yeah, but a warm procedural planet in a more of a binary earth movement, the planet you start your game with.

Oh, i get what you mean.
You want this to be the spawn planet.
Try PMing Spaceengineer about it.

Yeah, but I want firm backup from the community. I don't want to be an alone soldier going up against the creator, and have a handful of people disagree

Well, sorry to break it to you, but do you know that a new version changes the universal seed which will get rid of the planet?

He could, Islutas is a good planet. However there are many good candidates, for example.

I do have to say, Just because you have a labeled map doesn't mean it should be the mascot. I could find a planet and make a very detailed map in about an hour going down to almost every hill and mountain. I just think something like that should be more of an admin or space engineer thing.

I have to agree with Quontex. Your other topic is active and popular right now, but its topic (and contents) are really no different than any of the dozens that have come before it. Why should this particular planet be the program's 'mascot' when there have been far prettier planets showcased in other threads and especially the Image Dump?

Just enjoy the fact that you've got an active thread with people jumping on board for some creative fun. It literally isn't going to be anything more than that.

I would like Earth to be the "mascot" planet, since we live there...And it should be the spawn point aswell, its much more interesting to explore for earth-like planets yourself and its not good to spawn on one.
If our planet earth was the spawn-point,players wouldnt know about other planets like earth and will search for them. But with us spawning on that kind of planet already, its kinda boring...

I say that Earth will be the "mascot" planet and the spawn point....Its better that way....:)

When will our goverments forget about the borders, and start looking into the stars as a species?

That gave me a laugh, Good job :). I actually agree with earth being the spawnpoint, If I were starting SE for the first time the sense of self satisfaction I would get for finding an earth like for the first time would be immense. I get you would want to show off the engine but maybe have it in the saved locations so if you want to you can cheat and just go there. xD

/end of off-topic rant.

I think that the effect would be better if you spawned on a selena-only intergalactic planetary system. Most of the time that a new player spends there would be learning controls, eventually they would leave. Also it shouldn't be in the location menu, to make it seem like everybody gets a different one.
