Surface components (stones, plants, roads, buildings)
Am... Am I actually seeing this right now? Roads and buildings? Wow... This is looking to be one epic space simulator once it's finished.

Also, I am really looking forward to the 3D clouds, better water and more detailed landscapes. Planets would look so insanely gorgeous with those three improvements...

Unfortunately this won't be in SE soon, there are plenty of other things to be done before.

True. Still though, even if it's years off, I can't help but to look foreword to it.

This could use an update perhaps? Things like reverse depth buffer are no longer "next version", they're in 0.980 which is out now, and that's awesome!

Born too early to explore space... But just in time for Space Engine.

PC Specs:
GTX 770 (2GB VRAM) - i5 4570 - 8GB RAM

an update

Yeah, I agree.

The universe is not required to be in perfect harmony with human ambition.

CPU: Intel Core i7 4770 GPU: ASUS Radeon R9 270 RAM: 8 GBs

(still don't know why everyone is doing this...)

when I posted about astrospheres http://en.spaceengine.org/forum/21-11-55553-16-1444197579
I forgot add some additional good resources, so here they go

http://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1088/2041-8205/711/2/L53

of course no rush, when time and resources/hardware allows this to be rendered so we can just jaw-drop

+ something interesting about the size of our MilkyWay arm being larger than expected

Hate to bump a relatively old thread, but I think the list needs an update. a lot of things have already changed
