Make sure when you install any new version, you completly remove the old version, empty the recycle bin, including the folder, before installing a new version. I've had errors by not doing this.

...also, if you make your very own add-ons such as catalogs or planet descriptions, then make sure you save them in a safe place.

Wait, so if we still have 9.4, we have to unsitall that, install 9.5, but how do we use the 9.5.1 patch?

And how can we keep our log and locations and such?

Just install 0.95 in a new folder. Patch 0.95.1 is just an updated SpaceEngine.exe, rewriting the old .exe in 0.95 folder.

But won't the 9.4 stuff just use up space then?

Or am I misunderstanding you?

I'm interpreting that as:

> Don't uninstall 9.4
> Install 9.5 in a new folder seperate from where you did 9.4
> Replace the 9.5 exe in that folder with the 9.5.1

And even then, how would that keep the saved locations and such?

Hi Jabberwockxeno,

Version 0.94 can be completely uninstalled/deleted, as it is not part of 0.95. Version 0.95 is a new installation altogether, with its own folder. To install the patch, just delete the old 0.95 'SpaceEngine.exe' file at its location and add the new patched version there instead. That is all you have to do. The patched '.exe' won't effect your 0.95 saved locations either, as they are written to the 'config' folder.

Hope this helps...

Locations from 0.94 will not work in 0.95, because generation algorithm has changed a bit. So you can delete 0.94 folder. Just save what you want in 0.95 folder (screenshots, scripts for your self-made planets, etc)
