My submissions.

Space Engine Videos Dropbox

Space Engine is welcome to use these videos to promote Space Engine whether I win the challenge or not, or may use them for any future promotional videos for Space Engine.

A path recording and replay feature

One possibility would be a somewhat limited solution. Very limited. wink
Delete the journal.sc script, which SpaceEngine in the config directory generated and make a pre-defined travel. Then transform the journal script into a script for the console. That's pretty fast, with search and replace in a text editor. I have a sample script here. It is for 0.973, in 0.974.7 many objects no longer exist. I use a similar script as a kind of screensaver. Although screensaver is probably the wrong word!
Since it is possible that at the end after a 'break', the script is calling itself, you can let it run in an endless loop.
It belongs in 'docs\scripts' and is called with 'run JournalV2' and can be terminated with 'break'.

Attachments: JournalV2.zip (2.1 Kb)

Don't forget to look here.

A request: try to compress the files with 7zip if possible before uploading them if they have a large file size, since I have a very slow internet connection.

SE can natively run in any resolution in windowed mode, you don't need any mods or utilities.

You're right... I've tryed that before but with maximized window, of course it didn't work. dry

I've used fraps for a while and it recorded videos that weighted 180-200 mbs.

Now I've tried to use SE internal recording to have fixed framerate and they weigh incredibly less!

Since my in-game framerate is terrible I think I'll record a lot of very short videos, so you can mix it with music and use the ones that fits better. I hope it's a good idea, I'm enjoying this!

I've uploaded some clips.

The quality is horrible in the fast-moving parts, I hope they will be useful someway...

I would have recorded more if SE was not crashing and I had more than 3 fps.

I have some clips to submit. If the file size is too large or the quality isn't good enough, let me know. Otherwise, I hope you like these. :)

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1kxCaQEZKQVWDNvOXJuRG5iMjA/view

I originally shot these at ~15 FPS and then accelerated the clips a couple times their original speed to get a higher framerate. If any angles or paths appear strange, it's because everything is sped up.

HarbingerDawn, If you still need the zips of those files I've included them in the same directory here.

Bells_Theorem, I can't download the larger clips from DB because the downloads fail partway though and DB downloads generally can't be resumed if they're paused or failed, and I removed the desktop client from my computer due to how many problems I've had with DB. A host other than DB would be best.

It will end as soon as all needed clips are submitted. The sooner the better.

HarbingerDawn, do you have a recommendation? With the amount of data involved, most, if not all, require a pay account, which I don't mind, but I wan't to be sure you will be able to work with it before I make any more purchases.
