I came across this today.
I saw that it was high resolution but lacked color, so I went into Photoshop and changed it up a bit.
Ended up with this:

Simply delete the Jupiter folder in [Space Engine's folder]\Data\Textures\Planets and place the one in the archive in its place.

Good job editing the color and contrast. I personally prefer the original version, but that's just me, it's one of my favorite Jupiter maps. I've never actually used it in SpaceEngine, so I don't know how it looks. Perhaps it would be too washed out by HDR effects. Extra color and contrast would definitely help with that.

Nice addon smile

The HDR does wash it out a bit, but I got around it by slightly upping the overall exposure.

base.* texture should be a small power-of-two texture (256*128), so that it will load very fast.
Is there a full-res map (8000*4000 or like this)?

Wow, that's very nice! I'm using it now. I found an even higher resolution map, though: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped....782.jpg

There's this one from Steve Albers, don't know if it has more detail than the one from the original poster's link (2880x1440 pixel), Steve Albers has it in 4.096px × 2.048px resolution:

or

from this site:

Björn Jonsson created one with 7560x3780 pixels, but it looks like he didn't make it publicly available.

As Atmoscat said, Björn Jónsson has only released the 2880px version publicly.

It loads instantly for me, but I suppose you're right for people with slower PCs.
