No I don't think it was "un-implemented" but this mod could have some defects. Do you have any other mod installated?

Yes, Rodrigo's improved planet shaders. (they do not have overlapping files)

I posted it in list of addons, but volcanoes are messed up. 0.9.7.4 RC2 tried to install this klud's addon alone, then with rodrigo's shaders, but no success... does anybody have normal volcanoes?

Thank you all for the use of this addon, but now it is out of date because the craters are quite good now without it, and volcanoes is must remain as it is initially (but, of course, it is necessary to do something). Therefore, it is not necessary to use this addon.
