Scripted journeys?

I would like to be able to execute a journey script that could also be recorded as a video. Something that would let me recreate the introduction from the movie contact, since space engine seems like it would lend it self very well to that sort of thing. Here's what I'm talking about:

Is that possible? (the scripting part)

In the current version of SpaceEngine (0.95) there is no scripting capability. It will almost certainly exist in a future version, but I'm not sure whether it will be implemented in 0.96 or not.

0.96 will have some scripting system, however you may make such a simple zoom out video by just constantly moving back and increasing velocity.

I did try that but often a straight line doesn't work so well. It's sort of like holding a camera steady and walking backwards in a room, you're not exactly sure where to back up to. It would be nice to be able to script a path with a point driven bspline, for example.

0.96 will have a console with commands like "select Earth", "go to", "wait 5.0" that can be executed from a script - similar to Celestia. Spline trajectory is on my todo list.

BTW, you may make a backward video - starting from "edge of the Universe" and approaching Earth, in Solar system you may change course a bit, selection pointer will help to navigate. Once set of screenshots recorded (I'm assuming you are using the intermal recording system - F9), you can compile them into a video, but in a backward order - this will give impression of zooming out from Earth to the "edge of the Universe".

Sorry if this is the wrong thread to ask but I have been trying my hand with the console on SE 0.96 and I came up with a few questions:

1-In version 0.96, Is there a way to control how fast the camera moves from one place to another between LandTo commands?
2-Is there a way to level out the camera without having to use the Land command?
3-Is there a way to pan and zoom the camera?

EDIT: I was also unable to understand how to use these commands:

SetMoveMove 2 (this one in particular is not recognized)
SetSpeed 25.3
StopMove
StopRot

SpaceEngineer, is there a document describing the available script commands? If so, I'd love to see it. If not, I'd be happy to take whatever notes you have and compile such a document for others to use.

I want to start integrating scripts with my video efforts.

You can find a file named help.txt with all the commands inside the scripts folder and a test.sc with an example test script wink

There are still a lot of commands I'd like to see implemented before I try my hand at making a video with the console though smile

Thess commands are equal to keys 1-2-3 (change move mode), mouse wheel, z and x. They are not very useful in scripts for now. I simply implement all or almost all keyboard functions as a script command. The script system is in its very early stages, for example there is no command to set the camera orientation except the "center" command.

Great! Thank you both for such prompt responses. I'll see what is available and play around with scripts.

Are there any news in the scripted journey field ?
I (perhaps many more) would love to expirience SE users discoveries just by downloading the scripted fly-by or longer tour.
Obviously all in 120 inch 3D :D
I'm not an explorer, but surely an eager traveller happy

One possibility would be a somewhat limited solution. Very limited.

Here I have posted a small script that does something similar; and I have described how I created it.

Hello all, in a stroke of genius (pretencious me) I understood that the command SetMoveMove is a misstype what is really ment to be is SetMoveMode. Mode NOT Move. Unfortunately the error is still indicated in \SpaceEngine 0.972\docs\script file which references the different commands you can use.

Dont know where to post for a bugfix though @SpaceEngineer

Hope this helps, Love the software, Cheers
