Hello. smile I just started playing around with Space Engine a few days ago and I'm loving it so far.

I found a cool system that I took some screenshots of. This is a temperate oceania planet with four moons. It's really close to a binary system with a white luminus supergiant and a blue main sequence star so it looks really bright from this system. It's the one right above the planet here. I made it into a background that could stretch across both my monitors, which is why it's so long.

This is a cool sunset from the surface of the planet.

I guess when I was speeding up time for the sunset I stopped it just in time for an eclipse. smile There's some artifacts on the planet, but the shadow on the atmosphere looks awesome.

That last shot is amazing Nemitis! I don't know if any of you guys follow the game art blog Dead End Thrills, but Space Engine recently got some coverage there.

Temperate Desert

Nice! Have you modified/post processed the image a bit?

This is a planet that I came accross just a while ago as I was searching for earth-like planets:

It has very similar to earth atmospheric colors as it can be seen from its sunsets.

In this version of SE planets use one of a few set atmospheric models, so any planet using the Earth model orbiting a star similar to Sol will have an Earthlike atmospheric appearance. Hopefully in the future when atmospheric models might be created by the program it will be much harder to find a world with such a beautiful sky.

If you want, I can modify the lens flare textures to give you that look.
