| I have seen a poll asking for suggestions what would users like to see and I got this idea. Maybe you will not like it, but it seems quite cool to me so I will post the description:
Since there are already space ships in the space engine, it would be very interesting, if some star systems contained civilization, which travels either only through their own star system, or even to nearby systems. Every ship would require autopilot, which would lead it to its destination. For low-tech ships it would do the burn to start and end the Hohmann transfer, maybe even land on planets and moons and start again. At system generation, based on the tech-level, several space ships would be generated en route to their destinations. Player then could look at the space ship and wait to see how it progresses towards its target, or watch new ships being launched. (Every ship is lead by its autopilot, so it is an autonomous object.) It would be very interesting to watch the ships fulfilling their exploration/trade/warfare and other missions, maybe even eavesdrop their radio communications. It would give the system feeling that the alien civilization is alive, even without aliens walking the surface of the planet.
Another, unrelated interesting features would be storms seen from the orbit. I realized this when I saw several timelapse videos from the ISS, like this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ip2ZGND1I9Q Apart from the beautiful auroras, which already are in the Space Engine, one can see white flashes caused apparently by the lightnings of storms.

| This, coupled with procedural life, would be really amazing ! B) But won't be implemented anytime soon I'm afraid.
