Animated "surfaces" for gas giants?

Seeing as how some gas giants (in particular, Jupiter) have certain latitudes at which the gasses move at different speeds/directions, would this be a good idea to implement?

I can see performance issues and difficulty of coding the feature being a problem with adding this, though.

With the current way clouds are handled this is next to impossible. You'd have to generate many cloud layers, each of which has clouds for different latitudes, which I'm not sure the engine is currently capable of. Anyway, it already generates multiple cloud layers with different speeds, so it does give an effect like that already on some planets. It's just hard to notice since in reality it takes days for the effects to be noticeable.
