| Hello! It's kinda hard to imagine feature suggestions for such an open world project.
I thought maybe a "personal annotation" system could be added. For example you find a planet or something and put a little flag there, which when clicked displays a written Text and the name of the "finder". The annotation is then uploaded to a server and every time the game starts it downloads the list.
Those annotations just have to be incredibly small in size because there's gonna be a lot of them. Also somehow it would be need to regulated and censore shit messages.
Just an idea.
Added (24.08.2011, 21:42) --------------------------------------------- I don't want to make another thread so I'll make a second suggestion here, too:
Are you about to add weather effects to the engine? It would be awesome to zoom in a planet and experience a strong storm with flashes everywhere based on the settings of the planet. Those effects would certainly smooth out the generated terrains and would make for epic moments.

| The thing you described is my current plan for a multi-player game. The server will have a database where players can upload info about thier discoveries. Then if a player enters the planetary system, which was previoulsy discovered by another player, then the client will automatically download the data from the server with the name of the discoverer, together with names of planets that he/she discovered, etc.
Weather effects are also planned: read the TODO list.
