Changing a galaxy

| My question is whether it would be safe to change a particular galaxy (Maffei 1) from a spiral galaxy to an elliptical galaxy, assuming I know the letter designations. Would it break something?

| The only thing it would break is procedural stars and planets in that galaxy. They'd be completely rewritten, so if someone on the forum posts a planet that happens to be in that galaxy you won't be able to visit it. There will be no changes outside the galaxy.
