For AMD/Radeon VGA card and Win10 users:
The 0.972 version works but 0.973 and 0.974 crashed after start.
Solution: Deleting the atioglxx.dll from /system directory and contains of /cache directory. smile It's work for me.

I found this to be the fix for me. Thank you. This should almost be a sticky for AMD users who upgraded to Windows 10.

Have SE running on two computers with Windows 10 - MacBook pro and a Core i5 I built with Nvidia 980 - runs flawlessly on the i5 but getting the occasional crash when dragging the mouse with the MacBook pro - might try a reinstall on the mac.

Well I've just about had it with Windows 10. I hate how processes that are completely unnecessary like runtime broker.exe and others start to bleed CPU resources. I put my PC to sleep and when I get back on it that program is drawing 15-20% of my CPU resources and causes my CPU to idle at way to high of a temperature. I just reverted back to 7. I don't think I'll give Windows 10 another chance for a year or so.

For anybody in the same situation who still has problems after this should be sure to update their drivers since amd released a driver update for windows 10 users.

Today I've switched to Windows 10 and SpaceEngine is not working anymore.
I updated my GPU's drivers (otherwise it doesn't even work) but still it crashes on startup.

It happens only on the last 0.9.7.4 patches (I still haven't checked which ones exactly), old versions seem to work pretty well.

P.S.: As always, thanks Microsoft dry

Did you try to delete atioglxx.dll in the SpaceEngine\system folder?

I got the same problem on Windows 10. I have deleted specified files(ati... ) ,but on my computer the app crashes after few minuntes of running and I am thrown to my desktop and in the task manager says that the Space Engine is not responding and consuming about 2 GB of ram at the same time. Can omebody help me? I have never had any problems with SE on Winows 8.1

Did you delete your cache folder?

I did. it still happens + when I rotate the view or get closer to the planet - framerate drops to 1-3 fps. It never happened on WIndows 8.1, as I said. the app was running smoothly.
