In the release notes of 0.9.7.2, under "interface", it says "Simple GUI edtor (debug feature").

http://en.spaceengine.org/forum/20-2614-1

Is this a basic feature to edit the GUI itself? Or does it mean, a gui display of controls for editing objects in debug mode?

I'm asking, after trying to find some way to hide the top left information alone, with hopes that this "gui editor" could help accomplish this.

GUI editor allows to view and change control relative position and size. Changes does not saved anywhere, this is why it is called debug feature. Activated by EditGUI console command, work in Edit mode. Click on the control and it start blinking, its position and size is displayed at left. Use cursor keys to move it, with Shift to resize.
