| Hi everyone!
After playing Space Engine with a Radeon HD 5750 for a big while I decided to finally buy a better graphic card and see how fast this planets will generate with more graphics power.
Some time ago, I read in this forum that for SE it is important to have a graphic card with lots of memory, so I found myself looking only to graphic cards with at least 3GB. But i am wondering now if it is necessary as much as 3GB, I will use it in a 1080p monitor.
The thing is that I have a situation in which i can choose between 2 models: - Sapphire R9 285 Dual-X 2GB GDDR5 (which has a more powerful chip). - Sapphire R9 280 Dual-X OC 3GB GDDR5 (which has more memory).
What will it be better?? is 2GB enough and its better to go for a more powerful chip?
Thanks a lot in advance!

| I don't think either of these would be a bad choice; they're pretty close. In my experience the chip specs tend to be a bit more meaningful for SE than the VRAM size, as long as you're at 2GB or above. So unless price difference is a factor then I'd go with the 285, myself.

| If your goal is to make SE run as fast and as smooth as possible I would recommend going with Nvidia.
