Hi,

I am having a great time with this fantastic program but it keeps CTD. I have a very high end rig with updated drivers. How do I attach the log? It says to long when I try to post it.

Here are my specs:

Intel I52500K at 4.6ghz
8gb ram
GTX 580 2gb 3.14.22
Win 7pro

Here is the crash report:

Thank you!

denver, see this thread here (which also would have been an ideal place to post). http://en.spaceengine.org/forum/4-1555-1

Hello,

Yes I did read all of that first. It does not seem to apply to me. It is an appcrash in space engine.exe. The log does not shed any light on it to me but it may to you guys. How do I post it? It says its to long if I try and cut and paste.

Thanks

denver, read through the troubleshooting thread (I forget which page) about changing the setting on your loading mode until all galaxy models have been loaded, that is probably the reason for your issue.

Followed all the instructions and changed the value in the cfg to 1 then deleted the cache folder. Still just had a CTD. The FPS gets real bad to. I have never had anything slow this computer down untill now. I went to this real cool planet and when I was flying around it I would get these long freezes and then on one of them it booted me to the outer solar system of it. Then when I tried to get back on one of the freezes I got the hourglass and then CTD. It allways seems the most amazing programs will do this sometimes. Heck, I would even pay you money to get it working. I think you can charge for this easily, its that good.

Here is the new log.

Thank you for any help.

I believe it was step 4 you were referring to with crashes in the interstellar field rendering nebula. But I am having these crashes anywhere seemingly at random after about an hour. I do not think this is my issue.

If you're able to go for an hour without any crashes then you're doing better than most.

Well there has to be a solution other than to wait 20 more years for a better computer. smile LOL

I understand its a herculean amount of data and if it can bring this computer to its knees I may be seriouse about the above statement. Just had another CTD entering the Andromeda Galaxy going like 100kpc/s.

I have to say that I was a big tweak er of Flight Simulator X which was the second most reasorce hungry program and is the only other one that can cream my system. The problem, and I see the same issue with Space Engine is that the processor is over flooding the video card with draw calls. I can see this with the mega FPS flux going between 200 and 10 fps many times per second. The freezing is the video card saying "wait up dude I am bogging down". I used to overcome this with Flight Sim by using a fps limiter and a increasing the buffer pool size in the cfg file.

Any ideas on this guys?

Should I remove and install .96?
