Hi,

This isn't really a bug-related issue, but I've been having a problem where whenever I approach a planet, my computer will begin making a strange whining sound. Has anybody else experienced this as well? Could it harm my computer, or be an indicator of stressing my computer too much with SpaceEngine. It has never happened before, and doesn't happen outside SpaceEngine.

My system specs are

i5 3570k
Radeon 7950
16Gb RAM

This is just speculation, but it could be the fan in your graphics card speeding up as it generates the planets surface.

This version of SE have adaptive VSync. When you fly between stars, GPU load is low and fan dows not rotates very fast. But when you land on a planet, SE starts to generate landscape textures and GPU becomes fully loaded, those fan starts rotating at full speed.
