Thanks a lot !

I love this release... except that it crashes since I fly on the surface of a planet (whatever it is). But I'm sure that it will be fixed in the next patch ! biggrin

Doesn't this patch fix it?

Crashes may be very often if you load a lot of ships models. They don't use memory cache so they cannot be uploaded from video memory to free space for that planets. Try fly over the planet not using the ships - is it still crashes too often?

Patch smoothed out gameplay a bunch for me thanks SpaceEngineer. The Sol planets seem to load much faster for me now to the point flying ships to and on them doesn't cause a crash.

Nope. But maybe it's my drivers (I have an ATI...), I'll check that, and update them.
I'm using free fly, and after a while engine freezes a second or two, then crashes. It looks like there's a memory problem, well sort of. I can't explain more, is there a log that I can send to you ?

For me crashes are making their appearance now in 0.9.6.1 (patch) especially in planetary rendering even @LOD -2, with 0.96 i didnt have a single crash i guess i'll stick with 0.96

I downloaded .96 last night, had a few crashes here and there, but given the vastness of this and what I pushed it for at times, it didn't strike me as being unstable or anything.

As of 30 minutes of .961, no crashes happy

I confirm that I crash every 5 mn or less, especially when I'm flying around a planet.
My drivers are up to date.
I tried all tweaks about "ATI bugs".
Maybe a problem of LOD ? (I'm in -2)

That's really a pity, this release is sooo better ! cry

Oh, and it's seems that I don't have water (3D or not).

LOD -2 seems like the reason for crashes, at LOD 0 terrain still looks amazing and I have NO crashes at all, trying LOD -2 makes me crash a lot.

VRAM Issue? cool

Yep, exactly , it happens to me too (Of course with the patch version 0.9.6.1 , 0.96 seems perfect smile )

Teto, if after trying Talisman's suggestion you still have crashes, post your se.log and system specs.

I get crashes when I happen to "overload" the system, it seems, liking moving to rapidly around stars, galaxies etc for longer periods. No problem nearby planets etc at any LOD.

Yes, that is a consistent crash that I and most other users seem to also get; after a time a certain amount of memory is used and instead of recycling the memory properly it crashes the program (or something like that). I have been meaning to submit a formal bug report about this for a long time, but have not done so yet.
