| The issue I have with CE3 is it is barely a step above CE2, it is in no way "vastly superior". All of the major addons are just minor upgrades that could've been added to CE2. Compare CE1 to CE2 and its huge improvements in over all graphical and physics quality. If you compare CE2 to CE3 its only a few VERY SPECIFIC updates to the engine. In some ways it does look better and in others it looks like a step back.

Funny they did that and it doesn't.

| I almost forgot to mention The Stanley Parable. It's a Source Engine mod, and it's quite honestly one of the funniest things I've seen in a while.
Or, if you don't have Steam installed, I suppose you could cheat and look up a gameplay video, but trust me: It's worth installing steam for! A video just isn't the same.
When you are done playing the mod, check out the author's site. It seems he's working on an HD remix of the mod. The two trailers are hilarious. With regards to the second, I'm tempted to "ask the narrator" something myself.
EDIT: The game has six endings. When you finish playing, just watch this, and then this...

| Quote (anonymousgamer) I have a PS Vita right now.
I had a PS Vita, but a couple months after I got it (I got it release day) it was stolen.
I should mention I have empathy for you. I can't say I've specifically lost my Vita, but I understand how you feel. We never truly understand how much we love something until it's gone...
Do you know who might have stolen it, or was it a random theft by someone unknown? Did you have a lock-screen password? Are you planning on buying another? If you still have some of your game card(s) if any, charger, and perhaps a case if you got one, you could consider that... perhaps a white one- they don't look half bad. You can re-download any PSN purchases, but you'll need a memory card... perhaps a bundle can offer this.
Quote (anonymousgamer) That game was amazing, it was also my first WipEout game. I was one of the worlds best racers (won nearly every multiplayer race by miles, got the #8 fastest time in the world on one track and close to the top #10 on all the others (A class speed)). Of course, not anymore angry
My first wipeout game was wipeout Pure for the PSP. My PSP's screen broke a while back- long story short I've long since traded in my PSP games.
I always wanted to play Wipeout HD, but I'm a PC gamer, so one game is not nearly enough to justify the purchase of a PS3. When 2048 came out with the sample cross-play tracks, I just knew the entire game was going to be ported to the Vita; I was right. I bought a PSN card on the day it came out, and bought Wipeout HD/fury for the Vita. Since the tracks were from the PSP, it's kind of like things have come full circle- HD rightfully belongs on a portable system. --- At least some more games are coming out for it. Need for Speed Most Wanted, LittleBigPlanet Vita (in Firefox, the spellcheck suggested "interplanetary"), Killzone Mercenary, and Assassins's Creed 3: Liberation are all promising. From what was seen in the trailer, Killzone's graphics look phenomenal, especially compared to other Vita FPS games like Resistance or COD Declassified (what were they thinking?).
Spy Hunter for the Vita sounds interesting but I need to see some more actual gameplay footage. Nothing is more annoying than trailers with live action or CGI that don't feature (or barely feature any) actual in-game footage. Killzone's trailer is also a culprit, but at least the small amount of gameplay they showed was great. --- I've got to get back to reading a monitor which tells me what buttons to press, so I can press the buttons. It's my job as employee 426.

| Quote (Aerospacefag) Such is the power of education in capitalist economy I don't think a capitalist economy is to blame, I think it's society's attitudes. There are some places in the United States where there is a strong cultural sense that education and academic achievement are good, and these places produce very well educated and informed people, even if the schools are poor. The opposite is true as well. It's a cultural thing, not a matter of government or economy.
Also, if we're using stereotypes of economic systems, a nameless numbered employee seems more appropriate to a communist society

| Black Mesa will be released on the 14th.
...finally...
If this was HL3 rather than BM, the sun would have to go nova (three times!) sometime between now and the 14th. Also, it would be September in 5,000,000,012 A.D.

| HarbingerDawn, I'm talking about different thing. I oppose two different ideas of education - the first one says that the educated specialist have a purpose to satisfy a demand of a market, or government, or company. For this point of view, it doesn't matter what employee can think about pressing the buttons, does he even have an idea of what he is doing, what's meaning of this.
On the other hand, we can provide a so-called "complex view on the Universe", where almost every part of your knowledge is coordinated with every other parts, it's a "rational thinking" that gives the meaning to your actions. Given that, you don't just press buttons like a soulless machine, you actually doing important things, that somehow affects your surroundings. Well, sometimes you may discover, you don't like what you are doing, but at least you understand it on entirely different level. I don't know about the creator of this game, but it seems that game itself has no idea of that other point of view.
Quote (HarbingerDawn) Also, if we're using stereotypes of economic systems, a nameless numbered employee seems more appropriate to a communist society That's a stereotype too, and a hypocritical one. All of my elder relatives got an education in USSR, and I can't say they ever thought about people as "nameless" and "numbered". My grandfather founded a mathematics lyceum. My parents worked in a nuclear science before 1991.

It's just a silly reference to the second trailer I mentioned for TSP: HD remix... As I said, I'd recommend playing the game first.
On a side note: Spacewar!

I have no idea who stole it, and my only game (WipEout) was in the Vita. I only have the box and the charger now. It did have a password though. I'm not planning on buying another, it's just not worth it. The thing was more expensive than a PS3 and if I just buy another I would've spent enough money to buy a half-decent laptop, and it's just not worth it. And besides, if an iTouch 5 releases along the iPhone 5 this year, I'll just get that.

My parents worked in a nuclear science before 1991. I know it's not true, that's why I made sure to specify it as a stereotype. I am familiar with the great accomplishments of many people from the USSR, and that they were not nameless or numbered.
Quote (Aerospacefag) I oppose two different ideas of education - the first one says that the educated specialist have a purpose to satisfy a demand of a market, or government, or company. And you're saying that this is the philosophy of education in capitalist systems? I'm slightly confused, so I just want to be sure of what you're trying to say.
Quote (Aerospacefag) I don't know about the creator of this game, but it seems that game itself has no idea of that other point of view. What game? Are we talking about a game? I thought we were talking about philosophies of education in societies with different economic systems.

| Quote (HarbingerDawn) I know it's not true, that's why I made sure to specify it as a stereotype. But you linked it directly to communism, ignoring the other possibilities. I was talking about free, equal and complex education system created in these countries, and limited, fragmentary or private system that we can encounter today.
Quote (HarbingerDawn) What game? Are we talking about a game? Initially, I was talking about "The Stanley Parable" game which werdnaforever quoted in his post. That's a philosophical question, touched in this game.

| Quote (Aerospacefag) But you linked it directly to communism Like I said, I was making a little joke based on a stereotype, it wasn't meant as a deep analysis of anything.
In any case, I think that there's been a miscommunication somewhere and that we're not even talking about the same things, so I'm going to just stop now before I get even more confused.

Anyway, do any of you guys play any space MMO's (other than EVE Online.)? I tried Shores of Hazeron and it seemed like an ok consept. It just didn't work very well. Everything was jerky and confusing. Link: http://www.hazeron.com/
