Sounds very interesting, with some quirky bits. It was previously described as being Elite-like, but it's obviously not as "hard science" as SE.

| This project looks really promising: http://www.kickstarter.com/project....ts
Obviously taking a different tack than Space Engine, but with much of the same spirit, and an eye to maintaining an element of fun.

| It will be interesting to see this succeed massively (financially) cuz of "Notch" stamp on it, i just hope SE will have some gameplay till that hapen so we could witness following scene... "ppl are playing this game and are shocked about space, and generation and overall minecraft in space (and i dont mean blockade runner) and then... somebody on the internet will show them SE.

| What I found interesting about 0x10c was the computer systems and other micromanagement things. They got me really exited but I know if I tried to dabble with them I'd get lots pretty easily.

| Quote (SpaceEngineer) http://dg8.ru/ Dreams Gate is a game based on the "Star Gate" universe, developed by a Russian guy Roman Vereshagin. The game generates procedural planets with erosion effects (!), cool water and clouds. It already has a network system - you can walk on a planet and shoot other players (however the server is offline). Download: Last demo client http://server.dg8.ru/dl/demo-1.20.mod.1_patch.rar Since the server is offline, press the "Play offline" button when game loaded, or open console by pressing [~] and type "run". This version has no spaceships. To fly over surface, open console and type "fly". To switch back to walking mode, type "fly". After first launch, the screen resolution and fullscreen mode can be adjusted in the config.xml file in the game's main folder.
You russians are becoming gods of procedural programming or what?
There´s some future improvements for SE on those Screenshots.
Ty for sharing!

| With all those promising looking projects that are in development in the space gaming field (infinity, Elite dangerous, Dreams Gate, etc..) , I am worried as to what pathway Space Engineer should take with the development and realization of SE:
One option would be to finish the engine and then create a game. I think this is not a very wise choice because of the big competition and many people/teams developing their own games. The other option is to finish the engine and then try to sell it to the competition. I think this is a wiser choice but I am not an experienced in this field so I am open to suggestions.
(To the mods: This should probably be moved to another thread under development status or gameplay discussions)

If you dont know who it is, he is the man behind the games like Wing Commander (1-4), Freelancer, Privateer etc. In other words the best space sims of 1990s. New game project is already go as game was funded couple of weeks ago. So development has already began. You can check for more information by clicking the links below. Quote Full rigid body simulation of all spaceships. You wanted proper Newtonian mechanics. You got it! Spaceships adjust their trajectory and orientation just like the real thing.
