Biomorphes are numeric creatures that appeared for the first time on the screen of Richard Dawkins, when he was playing with complex numbers. With a simple fractal algorithm, we can produce 2D figures evoking forms of life. I discovered a website where a programmer built an entire simulation of life, with DNA, predators...

Each creature have a 128 bit genetic program : 32 to define the structure of the rest of the DNA, 32 for its shape, 32 for it's morphology and the last 32 for it's comportement.

Each creature does have a program that determine their comportement in four levels : DNA, primary metabolism, dynamical reactive behaviors, and cognitive behaviors.

When a biomorph is adapted to the environemment, it's genes will be transmitted to the next generation. There is no sexual reproduction.

Commands :
d : "drag" mode - use mouse moves to modify the viewing angle.
z : "zoom" mode - use mouse moves to zoom in and out.
b : display the "LifeDrop Box" .
a : reset 3D view in its initial position.
x : display the coordinates system.
i : display some statistical informations.
s : "selection" mode - this mode enable to select and unselect a given creature using the + and - keys. Informations about the creature are displayed in top left part of the screen.
n : using the selction mode, this key creates a new creature with the same DNA.
k : using the selection mode, this key kills the selected creature.
r : using the selction mode, this key removes the selected creature.

Enjoy !

This is nice, reminds me of Darwin Pond, but in a 3D space. Is there any way to disable the paths the creatures leave?
