| Since the discussion has turned into far future, simulation hypothesis, and other ideas on the future of life I think it is only appropriate that it be moved to a thread regarding what the future holds for humanity.
I have also changed the topic title to include what the future may hold for all intelligent life.

Unless there is some hidden way to punch into a new universe without dying or manufacture spacetime conditions that allow for infinite energy, it is unlikely anything will survive. Entropy really is going to be the death of everything.

Depending on the complexity it could be reproducible by anyone so one would expect to still see time travelers.
Here is why risk would not factor into this if it were possible. If you are at the end of the universe and energy is running out, but you have enough energy to travel back in time to when there was more energy, and the only outcome is non-existence through death then the potential reward outweighs any risk as the risk is the same either way.
