| I think it might be a heritage of my lifetime on imagebords, but also it's not my original username. There were some people in military discussions who called themselves "airfags", or "airforce fags". So, to reflect my interest in air force, military and space development, I took this nickname.
There's a theory that, as Cold War was nearing to the conclusion in the 1990s, both most developed nations (USA and USSR) canceled most of the programs related to the militry space development, because they agreed not to escalate the arms race even further, to the point of "final solution". US had their SDI program to prevent the threat of ballistic missiles from USSR, and USSR were developing the technology to penetrate even sophisticated anti-ballistic system via aerospace technology (that is what the original purpose of Buran program was).
Spaceplanes can take off silently, without alarming observation systems, fly in the upper atmosphere while being undetected, because plasma, generated by reentry, makes it invisible to the radars. This could lead to the disbalance of nuclear powers, and cause the new world war. So, even it's not stated directly one way or another, it is obvious that both development initiatives were canceled after some kind of negotiations.
There are several documentaries in my country about that epoch (in Russian), but, you know, despite its importance to the history of last decades, this episode is completely forgotten in the modern world.

| I got my name from me and my friend trying to think of a youtube name for me. He couldn't think of anything so we gave up for a few hours and messed around with his Xbox360, eventually I got bored and began thinking of a name again. I eventually resorted to mixing words up and thinking if it sounded good and if it even seemed like a youtube name. After 20 minutes of stupid and weird names I came up with the name "Slim monkey" (based off the fact that I'm skinny and like to climb trees) but I felt like it needed something, something to make it different and unique so I thought about and came up with "Simunkey". My friend agreed that it was a good name and so I made my youtube account. I now use Slimunkey in most of my accounts. Also hello to the KSP dev.
must....take....more.....SCREENSHOTS!

| Years ago I was taking a graphic design class at an art school in the summer. I had to create a blog using blogger (it wasn't the same blog... Website... I have now). Back then I only had an aol account I didn't use much. I figured I may as well come up with a new name, and sort of came up with this one on the spot. Eventually I used the Gmail account more and more until it became my email account of choice. ...now I use it as an online alias.

| I don't remember when exactly I started using it, but a long time ago when I was making an username, I decided to make it a combination of my first, middle, and last name, I've used it for internetting ever since.

| A couple years ago, Proteus is what I named my last computer out of a list of names in greek mythology and have used this handle online ever since.
I was surprised it was even available to use on here.

| Kimb was originally something I loved saying (even my cat had this for a name); so a friend of mine after hearing it so much nicknamed ME that. Take a bow Jessie!
