I don't think people are creeped out by

I still think that's creepy. I doubt you could find a creature on Earth - including humans - on which a photoshopped mustache, pipe, top had and monocle would not be weird.

I think Distinguished Tortoise and his well manured son would disagree

Someone's offering me a line on their T-mobile (USA) plan, and I'm between smartphones (a dreadful time in the life of a human being). I'm getting a Windows Phone 8 device. I'm sick of Android's carrier bloatware and sluggish performance, and I'm not getting an iPhone for a number of reasons.

I have a choice between the HTC 8X and Nokia 810. I believe I will be picking the 810 for its removable battery, side buttons that aren't flush with the sides of the phone, and expandable memory via micro SDHC. The only thing bothering me about it is the display- it's 800 by 480.

That's kind of small compared to 720p, or even 1136 by 640. It's the same size as the screens on the last generation of windows phones.

The screen matters to me since web browsing is one of the main things I do on my phone. What will I do? Someone snap me out of this.

...and I don't mind the 810's "generic" design. I actually really like it.

If you like the rest of the phone, get it. I have a phone with an 800x484 display and an iPod Touch with Retina. Both screens are crystal clear, you won't have any problems with the phone you want. Although, 720p sounds awesome for a phone lol.

They are becoming common.

Nice new tablets now have screens with 1080p resolution and beyond. Even 13 inch laptops have 1080p displays.

Most sites are made for screens with a horizontal resolution of 1024x768. Having a phone with a greater horizontal resolution means it's easier to browse full websites without things seeming jagged or cramped.

Also, the 8x loads webpages much faster.

n3xt, we have a thread here for saying whatever, including holiday greetings and random well-wishes, there's no need to create a whole new thread for it.
