The misconceptions behind the arguments he looked at are actually so simple that an intro-level textbook to atmospheric science or climate dynamics would have been sufficient for any interested person to recognize them. Or... even just googling a few free resources besides those blog articles, as he did. And it makes me wonder how people who are clearly very interested in climate science -- enough to read and spend a lot of time arguing about it -- apparently never tried doing that.
Certainly science communication could be better, but understanding how to choose your sources for information and determine their reliability is an important skill, and sadly it is one which a lot of people haven't developed.
