The universe is not required to be in perfect harmony with human ambition.

I am sorry to inform everyone that the Earth is to be carved into pieces and devoured. But at least it will be DELICIOUS.

Wow, that's really neat. I never knew the vegetation in Africa shifted like that through the year, oscillating up and down. I wish it showed sea ice as well; Antarctica looks too static when really it roughly doubles in area through the winter.

I also miss snow cover in western Europe. It's really the exception that there is no snow at all.

Which is more obvious in this recent chart:

Pretty much still an ice age down there.

Bright nova in Delphinus. Could be the brightest nova in 10 years.

Talk about crazy coincidence... that's smack in the middle of the Milky Way photo I posted a few days ago. I should retake the shot once the sky clears up and check for comparison. 6th magnitude is pretty bright! smile

Yesterday a nova was discovered in the constellation Delphinus. You can read more about it here:

http://www.skyandtelescope.com/observi....81.html

Is it becoming bright enough to be seen clearly without optical aid? wink

Love Space Engine!
