I can feel new users are going to come to our forums any moment now! biggrin /I posted a comment about spaceengine since Liquicity didn't mention it/
Though it seems to be someone else's video since it has the old nebulae and star flare. (I miss that flare)

I noticed it's a compilation of various videos taken from other SE videos on Youtube. I was surprised to see mine included; the 15-minute "SpaceEngine - Version 0.95 - A Seamless Voyage" demo from the SE video page, but they've edited my film by increasing the time speed - to give it a "fast-forward" look.

It would have been nice if they had asked my/our permission - or at least given credit to the authors- before using our videos. But then again: it's helping to publicize our beloved SpaceEngine, so I think I shall overlook this plagiarism. smile

Hello everyone, My bad for not mentioning the info about Space Engine straight away and for using the footage without having a single clue who made it. I found the videos on the frontpage looking around dying to use the simulator (which I found out I can't use as I'm using Apple Mac OSX)

I'd rather have recorded the footage myself if that was possible. From what I see this simulator is fantastic! It seems that the project hasn't been so active lately from what I've read about it, how come? I would love to see this developing as much it possibly can. I don't know how the simulator is build and whether it could be available for Apple computers in the future, but I would love to contribute in some way to it's growth.

Btw Thanks for being so positive on the video smile

It's been very active, the last major release was only two months ago, and major developments have continued since then. Check out SpaceEngine on Facebook for a timeline of releases, and check out this thread to see what has been accomplished since the last release.

That's good to hear. Is it really one guy programming it?

Yes, SpaceEngine is being developed by only one person, his name is Vladimir Romanyuk; his screen name on the forum is SpaceEngineer. A few other people have contributed some models and/or textures, but he is the sole creator and programmer of SpaceEngine.
