I'm in Australia (far north Queensland) and we have clear perfect nights 90% of the time. I can see everything in the sky up here as I am living about 10km out of a town with only about 3000 people.

Can anyone tell me if we will be able to see these meteor showers down in Australia? I had a brief look last night but had to do some other stuff so I didn't really see anything.

Tonight is a rainy cloudy night. I'm hoping it clears up later as its supposed to be one of the most active nights.

Btw have you ever been in Finland? I'm asking because we get many russian tourists during summertime.

No, I've never been to any country except Russia, Belorussia and Ukraine.

If you can see the Perseus constellation, then you can see a Perseides.

Never watched his videos but I suspect it has something to do with the similarity between our profile images. I'm sure more than 2 people watch Doctor Who and liked Tennant as the doctor. tongue

Well what made me suspect you being him was the DW image, the fact that you both live in the states and his space engine videos. Also i remember him talking about the meteor shower in one of his videos.

I think a large majority of users on the internet live in the USA. After China the USA has the most internet users in the world. So the odds of finding 2 people with similar interests seem pretty good.

It's good because it promotes community cohesiveness and camaraderie. It's not bad because we all know that SpaceEngine will grow by a lot in the future! smile
