A question about Hot Jupiters

Hello!

I'm working on a writing project and I just wanted to know something. Sorry if this is in the wrong place, I didn't see a general questions thread (the stickied one was really inactive and I didn't feel comfortable necromancing it). This question also lies in a bit of a 'we just don't know' area since we can't actually document anything like this happening (as far as I know).

Would a Hot Jupiter that is having it's atmosphere stripped away by solar wind have any effect on a Earth-like planet that might be positioned in a similar Goldilocks Zone as ours? I'm just wondering if there would be any negative effects on the 'Earth' when it passed through the 'debris' trail. Would we see a change in weather patterns, extensive northern lights of any kind or would the effect be so minimal that there would be no visible difference at all?

No, any effects would be insignificant.
