Finally!

I spotted it about 45 minutes before it set. It looked best while it still was about 5 degrees above the horizon.

Got this shot about 1.5 hours ago:

Very nice shot.

Sky is clear tonight so I hope I get a chance to see it, otherwise I won't have a chance for the rest of the time it is visible.

I'm glad you got to see it, midtskogen. That shot is beautiful! cool Were you able to see it with unaided eyes or is it still effectively a binocular/camera target?

I've got clear skies again tonight as well so I'll try to take some more photos.

Still nothing, here. Too many trees everywhere and it's stupidly cold, as well as humid. Probably the worst place for astronomy you could imagine honestly.

Not really cold where I am but I couldn't find a nice enough spot and the western horizon was too cloudy.

Won't bother posting my stuff in this thread but I put it in the Astrophotography thread

I didn't have a tripod this time so my shots aren't too good, but here's something fun. A plane chasing a comet. smile

It was possible to see it without binoculars using the peripheral vision, but then you must know where to look. So I would still call it a binocular target.

It might be visible again on Sunday, but apart from that the clear weather is over for this time it seems.

My picture of Panstarrs (click for full resolution)

I don't get why people keep telling me that i need binoculars to see it. I could see it just fine with the naked eye.

That's too bad. sad
I'm probably going to have a few clear nights, but it's probably going to get cloudy here too.

Show-off...

It was the weirdest thing. When i saw the comet and pointed my camera at it, it didn't appear in the images. The shine from the sun was way too bright. I sat there for like 30 minutes shouting at my camera because it couldn't see anything. biggrin

You've got good eyes. smile

I could see it with averted vision the other day, but it was tough, and I had to use binoculars first.
