| I think there is no thread about the content and the function of the Wiki system. Here it is.
(I have taken the name from this blog.)
Question: What good is this thread?
Answer: Well, people could create Wiki entries for their favorite system and planets and post here.
If someone has posted a self-made system, which contains such entries, a link could be made here.
For example HarbingerDawn has created for his Homeworld Universe addon such an entry, for the planet Kharak.
Homeworld Universe v0.12
For creating Wiki text: Here is a link to the 'Database Script BBCodes'.

| Quote SpaceEngineer ( ) Sol doesn't have parent! Correct entry is in russian databse:
Quote RObject { LocName "Солнце" Name "Sol" }
Quote HarbingerDawn ( ) Star systems do not have parent objects. But a star has two functions when it is the main star of the system. Therefore, various information appears, depending on whether it is clicked with the left or the right mouse button. This applies to the on-screen information and for the Wiki information. Once the star is the physical object, the glowing, hot ball of gas, the other times the central object of the system, the 'Parentbody'.
Since the star is part of the system, it is to some extent also his own 'mother' or 'father', his 'Parentbody'. (This reminds me of a time travel story by Robert A. Heinlein)
For the wiki information it is possible to create two entries. One with and one without specifying a parent object. This is an example with the 'eng-db.cfg'
Info about the Parentbody of the system
Code RObject { LocName "™ Ursae Majoris" Name "CHI UMa" Descr "[big]This is a test.[/big]
This is the central object of the system. The [big]Parentbody[/big]. In a certain way, even his own [big]Parentbody[/big]" }
Info about the star
Code RObject { LocName "™ Ursae Majoris" Name "CHI UMa" Parent "CHI UMa" Descr "[big]This is a test.[/big]
This is the main star of the system, a glowing, hot ball of gas." }
The entries must be in the order shown here. First the information about the star as the central object of the system, then the information about the star as physical object.
If only one entry is made without 'Parent' Object, no information about the star as physical object appears in the Wiki.
If only one entry is made with 'Parent' object, the same information is displayed in the Wiki in both cases.
Therefore I think, it is better to give a 'Parent' object when only one entry is there.

| I was wondering if we should append the sources on in-game wiki infos, regarding real objects, obviously. Not as in Wikipaedia, this could be troublesome, more something like:
M42 is blah blah blah, end.
Source: NASA
or ESA or ROSCOSMOS or JAXA or, why not, Wikipaedia and others. This because at least someone willing to verify informations provided within SE of real astronomical objects, could be "assured" by the presence of verified sources. Then he can verify whatever he want on the net, looking for original infos there. I know, there's no need right now, but it could be material of further discussions, once the program will reach stage 1.0. Plus, it corroborates the scientific look that is SE distinctive trait.
