| Hi !
I've been working on a little mod : the representation of the solar system when the Sun will start its transition to a red giant.
The Sun in 5 billion years.
Mercury and Venus have been swallowed by our own star, and the Sun is dangerously approaching the orbit of Earth. Our native planet lost its atmosphere and its surface is scorched under the huge light.
Byebye Earth !
The Moon have escaped from the Earth's gravitational field since billion years and started its travel as a dwarf planet. Phobos dissapeared somewhere on Mars's surface, and the human colonisation have left the ex-red planet a long time ago, as it was starting to look like Venus.
Somewhere is Mars.
The Galilean moons, which have been the shelter for aquatic life (see SpaeEngeener's SolarSys3000 mod), lost their oceans, and as their temperature climb, they become furnaces.
Europa, Io, Amalthea, Jupiter...
The humans have found their new shelter where the temperatire permits, on the Saturnian moons, and Titan is their new capital city.
Where are we now ?
Here, the destroying Sun is finally a red bubble, as terrifying as reassuring.
Enjoy !
How to install :
Download the catalog fonder on the attachements and rename it "GiantSol.sc", and put it on the "data/catalogs/planets" folder.
And add to the "universe.cfg", on the tag PlanetsCatalogs the following line :
"data/catalogs/planets/GiantSol.sc"
Don't forget to put a double slash before the original Solar System folder, like this :
//"data/catalogs/planets/SolarSys.sc"

| Was going to say your attachment is missing but I see you added it.
This is pretty neat. I had been thinking about making something like this but wasn't quite sure where to go with it. I will definitely mess around with this.

I noticed it, and I solved it as fast as possible.

| (Salvo) In the solar systems thare is two suns D: The Sun is already in the stars catalog, and it would be too long to search it to change its properties, so I create another star named 'Sun' instead of 'Sol' to have a Red Giant in the solar system. And...

| (Voekoevaka) I create another star named 'Sun' instead of 'Sol' to have a Red Giant in the solar system. This will give unrealistic properties to the system since SE will calculate the radiation from both stars rather than just one.
You don't need to change Sol's properties, just put RemoveStar "Sol" in the star catalog before entering the new star. Then you should name the new star "Sol" as well so that the SolarSys catalog will still be valid.

| (HarbingerDawn) Just put RemoveStar "Sol" in the star catalog before entering the new star. Thanks ! I don't know this command.
Edit : It seems it don't works on the sun. When I code : RemoveStar "Sol" Star "Sol" RA 0 0 0 Dec 0 0 0 Dist 0 Class "M9III" Luminosity 11.83 Age 9.54
RotationPeriod 609.12 Obliquity 7.25 EqAscendNode 72.62 The classical sun is still there, and there is no goant sun.
