| (For a higher resolution and more realistic Moon map, look here)
This is a high resolution surface map for the Moon based on a map made by John van Vliet from Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter mosaics, with color from a map made by Jens Meyer from Clementine orbiter imagery. I edited, combined, and adapted the maps for use in SpaceEngine. The resolution of the map is 333 meters/pixel.

Extract the archive into your SpaceEngine directory. Then open your solarsys.sc file located in "\data\catalogs\planets\" and change the DiffMap parameter argument to "Moon/Surface32k", so that the Surface tag reads like the following:
Code Surface { DiffMap "Moon/Surface32k" DiffTileSize 514 DiffTileBorder 1 BumpMap "Moon/Bump" BumpTileSize 514 BumpTileBorder 1 BumpHeight 19.851 BumpOffset 9.058 Exposure 5.0 Lommel 1.0 }
Enjoy!

| Beautiful! If you look at those images, at first sight one might think it was an actual spacecraft which took the images.

| Quote (DoctorOfSpace) Now I can't decide which to use Sounds like you've got more batch files to make
Personally I would use the grayscale one. Higher resolution and more natural looking. But everyone has differing opinions which is why I made both available In the future if I can upgrade my computer to have more RAM I will make a 64k version available.

| Quote Fireinthehole ( ) I can't get this to work in 0.97.1. This was made for an older version. You have to extract the folders to their new loactions, so instead of data/textures, it will simply be textures. In other words, you need to navigate the folders in the archive until the names match the folders in the SE directory.
Quote ZackG ( ) This is an outdated version. if you want the newest version. click on the this That is not the "newest version", that is a different map.
