Quote n3xt, find any image editing program, open the 2 lens flare files in it, and then turn the saturation all the way down. That will effectively make the image black and white and then only the color of the star will affect the flare color.
Could you post a link to download a very nice editing program?
Anyway once again really nice flares but I can't wait to see G0-type stars actually appear white or very slightly yellowish-white ^^
Instead of yellow or yellow-orange... xD

I replaced every file but those 2 and no luck. Maybe I'll just DL another copy and patch that instead.

So there's no way to actually make a G0 star look whiter (or slightly yellowish-white) at all?
I've tested all flares now but yours is definetely the nicest, but I honestly enjoy the others as well.
But I just wonder about the colors of it's possible to appear stars as ''Real Star Color''...
Hmm maybe another idea for the F4 menu

Nice and accurate list you got there!
I love how F0 and F2 is marked in slightly bluish-white (just like Canopus)
Maybe it's a nice idea to change the type of colors of stars by somewhat based on their light unstead of their surfaces. Because in my opinion 99% does actually appear whiter. For example when I'm 5 AU from Canopus it appears pale white (should be blusih-white but oh well I'm satisfied anyway, just suggestions though) but within 0.5 AU the star becomes yellowish-white (I like that). But I usually play SE by realism and I don't want my butt to be fried XD
(In that case) Commander! Yes Captain?! Activate turbo shields! Roger that sir! XD
Oh well maybe it's a nice idea to add additional colors like blue-white, yellow-white, yellow-orange and orange-red...
I have a question HarbingerDawn: I don't understand why stars from the M9-L0 transition suddenly become fully atmospheric? Shouldn't it still have an ocean of hot liquid plasma as L0 to maybe L4?
Because V838 Monocerotis seems to be the first L-type supergiant and a brown of such size would be... rediculous xD Maybe another idea when brown dwarf masses are equally balanced to refer some late M-type dwarfs (M7-M9) also to as brown dwarfs by definition of their mass, but doesn't necessarily has to be the case.

But if the object does not sustain fusion reactions to generate energy, what would generate the plasma layer you refer to? Brown dwarfs to not fuse hydrogen in the way that stars do.

Okay thanks for letting me know.
About V838 Mon I said it was an L-type supergiant (apparently an M-tpye one, didn't knew that...). Anyway what I meant was if there would be an ''atmospheric'' composed of non-plasma activities L-type (wich in SE are gas giants)...
To keep it simple I said V838 Mon is an L-type supergiant not a brown dwarf but my point is that M9 is convective while L0 is inmediatly non-convective... I said if there would be an L-type sub-stellar mass supergiant would be ''rediculous''
I know that brown dwarfs are SSO's (sub-stellar objects)... And their cores might still be hot enough for their small sizes to actually sustain a hot ocean of plasma of dull reddish color (unlike orange-reddish of true MS stars). But in due time the star's core will cool off because it was never able to ignite hydrogen and become more like giants of sub-stellar mass. Right...?
Anyway isn't V838 Mon more or less a former white that re-ignited helium fusion for a very brief time?
And about the star colors is pretty simple. The Sun from close appears as yellowish-orange while from further away pale white (unless on surfaces with atmoshperes). Because just like in SE when you're close to stars their total luminosity output reduces drastically that you don't see their light output but just the star itself with magnetic fields. But the more distant you get how more it's concentration of total luminoisty output gets...

About the convective thing I perhaps meant about a burning surface. I agree about the brown dwarf convection though, but they must be fully convective just like red dwarfs. What I still find weird and that's what I would like you to know all the time is that why M9 appear as a star with a ''burning surface'' while L0 inmediatly appears as a ''gas giant'' of substellar mass in outer atmoshperic terms. Shouldn't L0 SSO's be more or less like dull reddish well not stars but you get the point in terms of color. And about the giant thing I meant gas giant ofcourse...

In the future, with time and resources permitting, I'm sure that SpaceEngineer will improve the appearance of brown dwarfs. Right now they are just gas giants with star shaders.
