| Quote (SpaceEngineer) Steam early access requires that game must be already on greenlight, but greenlight requires that game must be "almost complete". That doesn't make much sense, since KSP is definitely not "almost complete" However, since work has not yet started on any SE-based game products (besides the engine of course) then it would definitely make sense to use something like Indiegogo for the initial fundraising. After a commercial game is in development it can be put on Steam like KSP.
All forum users, please read this! My SE mods and addons Phenom II X6 1090T 3.2 GHz, 16 GB DDR3 RAM, GTX 970 3584 MB VRAM

| The free planetarium mode could still be put on steam and once the game has started it would make getting that on Steam a faster process.

Moreover, there are games such as Kinetic Void that have actually been Greenlit, but KV is still in pre-alpha stages, so I don't think that "almost complete" will be an issue. My guess is they refer to a playable state of sorts and/or not just a nice idea on paper but actually advanced in development to a certain level. In short, I'm pretty sure SE would be perfectly acceptable on Steam Greenlight in its current form.

| What happens when space engine is released on steam? Will it no longer be free. Will there be a non - steam version? Someone reply to me.

| I always thought the Steam idea would be great.
You can watch people play SpaceEngine on YouTube, and their reactions are amazing. Almost everyone is amazed at how vast and detailed the simulation is. People explore for hours - take a break - and then always the urge to go back, because it's an almost endless search for anything!
So, if you're issue is that "the game is no where near complete", just think at how many Steam members would be amazed with the idea of SpaceEngine and how it is already. It would garner a MAJOR interest in the future of the program, especially if you list off what you plan on doing.
I mean, this is all your choice. It's your baby, but if you eventually want this to go viral and have the world seeing it's astonishing features, I recommend Steam.
