| Would a white dwarf have enough gravity to produce a visible light-distortion?
Also, can a neutron star, lets say in a binary system, have enough matter fall on it that it can evolve into a black hole?

| Quote (anonymousgamer) Would a white dwarf have enough gravity to produce a visible light-distortion? Not really, not enough to bother trying to model it in SpaceEngine. Just think, neutron stars are one thousand times smaller, and a few times more massive. The difference in the noticeable distortion between the two would be staggering, much greater than the difference in noticeable distortion between the Sun and a white dwarf.
Quote (anonymousgamer) Also, can a neutron star, lets say in a binary system, have enough matter fall on it that it can evolve into a black hole? Perhaps. But such an event would take place over astronomical timescales, and so wouldn't make sense to model in SpaceEngine until such things as stellar evolution and other long term changes are implemented.

| Oh wow, you guys gonna implement stellar evolution models? Amaaaaazing
I would be glad to help you guys with my detailed stellar evolution classifications (just the classifications though of spectral types and luminosity classes). But please don't make stellar evolution models like these:
Very quickly:
Molecular Cloud --> Protostar --> Main Sequence Star --> Red Giant --> Planetary Nebula --> White Dwarf...
or...
Molecular Cloud --> Protostar --> Main Sequence Star --> Red Supergiant --> Supernova --> Neutron Star / Black Hole
There's waaay more in stellar evolution...
Truly an amazing idea

Yes, but this is already class "Unlikely if Possible" on SpaceEngineer's ToDo list so adding way more would mean more files and data to handle so if possible it would take years to code, according to my common sense.
Thought Universe Sandbox 2 ( http://universesandbox.com/ ) does model stellar evolution and manual collapsing into a black hole though...
I'm just sayin' SE is not physics related and lots of code (If not, a supercomputer, and at worst, a quantum computer) would be required to see a live galaxy.
