Thats just the impression I got plus no updates forever I assumed unless he reach the goal nothing else will happen. When will the next update be then roughly?

As stated in the FAQ, when it's ready. I would try to give you a guess, but my guesses are always wrong, so I won't bother. All that matters is that it's being worked on just as much as ever, and its release has nothing to do with money.
