Sorry, this might be a dumb question, where are they saved? I can't find any and I made a movies and videos folder and nothing pops in those.

Also, if it's only laggy while recording will it effect how the actual movie look?

EDIT: Just found that they are individual screenshots in my screenshot folder.

Before recording to the screenshot folder, enable the "Frame time mode", this is activated by Shift-\, this should steady your frame-rate when you convert pics to movie. You may notice "lagginess" while recording, but hopefully this should be removed once you've converted the pictures. The F9 key will automate the 'frame time mode,' in the next release, but for now you have to do it manually.

The screenshot/video folder in 0.94 will also change in 0.95. Videos will go into a sub-folder of the "screenshots" folder, called "capture"

Maybe there was a problem with my install, because the only folders in the main directory are config, data, and scripts. huh If I make a folder called "screenshots" and put it in the main directory, will the shots automatically go there anyway? Thanks!

Regards,

Ian

The screenshots folder should be made automatically. Also, why do you have no cache folder? That should also be generated automatically by the program. Did you install SpaceEngine correctly?

I'm pretty sure I installed it correctly, and it works fine, but if I'm missing those folders I think I'll try a reinstall and see if that works.

The hotkeys for makeing screenshots are "F11" or "Ctrl+F11", not regular "PrtScr", maybe that's your problem.

@HarbingerDawn- I have downloaded Space Engine again, but there are no folders named "cache" or "screenshots" in the zip file. Do they just appear when you play Space Engine or should they be in there already?

@Aerospacefaq- I have been using the F11 key to try and take screenshots, and it still is not working. It's probably a problem with my install at this point.

Regards,

Ian

They are created when you run the program. When you install, are you extracting the entire contents of the archive to a new folder? Also, you should post your se.log file and system specs including your OS version, maybe that will help.

The problem is solved! For some reason, running Space Engine as an administrator caused the cache and screenshot folders to be created. Many thanks, guys! biggrin

I can think of no reason for none of that to have produced a screenshot folder. Upload your se.log file, and tell me what filepath you have SpaceEngine installed to.
