| Does SpaceEngineer plan to add random events (for lack of a better term) in the future? Events such as planets/stars colliding, asteroid impacts, galactic collisions, and celestial objects falling into black holes? If there's already confirmation for this, please redirect me. Thanks.

| All the planned features are here. So it's a possibility but most of those events you described would require more power than a supercomputer. So the answer is probably but not for a long while.

It does this, though there are no pretty effects. From looking over the development of V3, it looks like it may have dynamic surfaces. In other words when something impacts its creates a crater.

| It would be tricky to make that work with SE's procedural generation though, as it generates the things you go to on the spot based solely on your location and time. For colliding planets it would, under the current system, need to check the entire history of the planets for collisions. Supernovae seem easier, as it's a simple function of the age of a star, but with the problem that they're bright enough to see from huge distances and would therefore need to be checked while in other solar systems too.

| Yep i have, I actually own a copy of Universe sandbox. As apenpaap said it would be tricky to simulate it on the scale of the SE universe and it'll be a bit before the PC can handle it.

| Random events would be pretty awesome if they were done right, imagine browsing solarsystem afer solarsystem, you find a gas giant and while checking it out you see it's evolved from singlecellular life into multicellular, all while you were browsing just a few years, that would add some good depth!
