This is definitely worth a look. I mean I have a decent basic knowledgde about astronomy... However this magnitude of atmospheric pressure is just rediculously high o.O

I wonder, if this is actually possible? This poor planet must be like 1000% fully loaded with carbon-dioxyde LOL haha

Check the attachments hahahaaa... lol

Yes, that is a very high pressure, thrice as much as the pressure at the bottom of the mariana trench. Planets like this really show the line between gas giants and terrestrial planets needn't be so clear, also owing to its big mass. I wonder if a world with so much atmosphere wouldn't just look more gas giant-y on the outside?

Very impressive, I've found worlds with 150x pressure but not four digits. cool

Well it does look a lot different from a normal 1 atmosphere terra.

In such a planet, the atmosphere could be a supercritical fluid, that can carve strange rock formations.

Sorry for the idiot thread name...

n3xt, you apologize ahead of time for things that you do a just little to often. If something is worth apologizing over, then it is often worth avoiding in the first place.

You're right, the name of the thread is a bit over-the-top. I'll rename it to something with a more appropriate style. Try to keep it a little more low-key in the future.

I've found double that in 0.95. I still have a pic.

Well I got owned by anonymous so the thread name edit comes perfectly timed xD

Oh wow... Check out this one as well with 864 atmo pressure... And it's a Cold terra with life... shok

Amazing check out this ''binary'' planetary system aswell (the last 3 attachments)

I found a super-earth with an atmospheric pressure of 10430 atm. It is a very odd planet... It has large red rings, and the strangest thing? Its got life. Poor things must be squished to the ground.

Wow, an atmo-pressure over 10000, I think that is a new record. The fact that life exists boggles my mind.

Crazy planet! I don't think I've seen pressure that high before either. At those conditions water would be Ice VI. surprised

Wow, great find. I think it's surprising that there are oceans on the planet, must be some weird chemical.

Wow, that clearly shows the 10000 atmosphere limit to pressure is no longer present in this version. That planet really is well on its way to being an ice giant, with that mass and pressure and rotation speed. Which makes me wonder if in future versions a planet like that would have some form of cloud banding going on.

What is the atmospheric pressure supplied by the Wiki? Wouldn't atmospheres that dense create a supercritical metal film of raw atmosphere on the surface? Crazy planets. wacko

I'm back, but am I here to stay? Hopefully!

The same as displayed on screen?

Not metal, no. You might be thinking of something like the liquid metallic hydrogen hypothesized to be at the center of gas giants. But the pressure required for that is more than an order of magnitude higher than the pressure at the surface of this planet. There are still interesting phase changes here though, depending on the composition of the substance. For example, hydrogen and nitrogen would still be gases, but water and CO2 would be solid. Methane would be right around the melting curve between solid and supercritical fluid. (Judging by phase diagrams from wolfram alpha.)
