was roaming about in the universe and took some screenshots after I wrecked Skyrim by over modding it game kept crashing gotta re-install sad

I can't handle such images when i enter a planet like that The terrain Glitches into a blank surface.
Sometimes however i get a few little hills.

I've never seen terrain like that in the sim. Not even Earth is like that (even after downloading the official mods).
My planets are comparatively flat, pixelated, featureless and colourless.

Is there something you have to tweak to get terrain like that?

EDIT: ok, I see these were probably LOD2 screenshots. Even still, I've never seen a planet with such high, jagged mountains. Even the Himalaya mountains of Earth look like small hills.

Yes, those look like LOD2 screenshots, keep in mind Earth uses a map for it's terrain while other planets in different solar-systems are procedurally generated. Try going to a real procedurally generated terra planet and finding some mountains, once they load it should look similar to that.
