| I can see where you might be seeing it (a slope greater than 1, if I interpret your meaning correctly), but I'm pretty sure it's just shading...

| Yeah, I see it that way if I blink a few times, but here's the confusion I had the first time I saw it: Edit: The embedded picture was converted to jpg for some reason, but the attachment is the original gif animation.

| Kind of similar thing I get when looking at some photos or videos of space engine is this illusion
craters look like mounds for a few seconds,
