Space-popcorn, anyone? I will give you a warning, this contains flashing images:
I keep editing this post, but this... Is simply amazing. This planet is EXTREMELY close to its star. Like, REALLY REALLY close. This picture is without the atmosphere or clouds enabled, otherwise it's just a completely white screen. If you go to the dusk part, you can get a pretty alien looking view. it just feels so strange, and the fact that it all turns to white after a while is just incredible. You have to go and explore there, it's RS 0-9-42616235-937-4-8-14033353-0 1
Holy mother of space balls! DoctorOfSpace, If that level of detail of the rendering of galaxy's is that good in SE 0.97, im going to explode my brain into the 4th dimension!!! But some feeling of me feels that the planets are just photo shopped.

Usage of swear and abusive words is strictly prohibited
Did not think that would line into context of breaking the forum rules. For one I spelled it "differently" and it was in no context of abusive to anyone. That's just my opinion, and to be honest a little silly that such little words the way I used it would be all up in arms. But rules are rules and will not happen again.
I changed it to this " im going to explode my brain into the 4th dimension!!!"
*Looks at the rules* "no matter in what form and to whom they are addressed. It concerns substitution of letters by characters as well." Missed that part :/
Sorry about that HarbingerDawn.

Swearing is against the forum rules, regardless of context (I only quoted a portion of the rule, go read them again to refresh your memory if necessary).

No you didn't. The word you used was a correctly spelled legitimate swear word.

No one is up in arms about anything. Up in arms would be me yelling at you and threatening to permaban if you did anything like that again. All I did was just to remind you of the rules and note that you broke them, because that's my job. I don't know how I could have been any more minimalistic and nonchalant about it than I was.

Ah, now that's a little more creative

DoctorOfSpace, What ? how did you manage to have Milky Way like this ? Its mind blowing..
By being a high level wizard or something.

If that level of detail of the rendering of galaxy's is that good in SE 0.97
Its not

Actually the planets are legit in game images and the milky way is a legit real life image. I just did some blending magic and it turned out nice looking.
(HarbingerDawn)
He photoshopped it guys...
Photo magic
Really I just take 2 images, one that has a black background behind the planets, one with the galaxy visible, then I take a high resolution image of the Milky Way and match it to the background Milky Way and then mix some layers together.
Basically go from two images like this
Top layer
Bottom layer to match galaxy to, then mid layer and erase the in game galaxy
And end with something like this. Not the best example but basically how I did the others.
I suspect some day in the future SE or some program will have such quality

Well to make up for my little "episode of ignorance" and I think its about time I post something that just makes you think. I like to think in big ways, seeing strings of galaxy's that are in their cluster just makes me awe. I like to think that the "flat edge" of the universe of SpaceEngine reminds me of tree roots.
The Bottom Root of Galaxy's
The Bottom Roots of Galaxy's A little higher up.
The Edge of Galaxy Roots The Roots or strings of Galaxy's just go on and on in all directions
Stupendous Strings of Galaxy's
SpaceEngine's "Trangle" Universe
The Edge of Forever
I just wonder what the whole "cubed" universe in SpaceEngine would look like if everything was rendered at once. We can only dream.
