Found something quite interesting during one of my milky way galaxy scans.

A terra with life at a pleasant temperature of 54F, with a diameter of only 3099 km!

It would only take a little over a day to drive a car around it.

Because of its insanely small size it has quite the exotic look, and you can see its curvature from the surface. I think this is my new favorite. cool Just goes to show how the amazing things Space Engine can generate.

I will name it: SST I

Here's my description of it after examining it:

SST I or "Super Small Terra One" is in a class of extremely small terrestrial planets having a diameter of only 3099.027km. It has an age of roughly 3 billion years and qualities that could allow life to flourish. Only about 39% of the planet is covered in water by small lakes, with one dominant circular lake in the crater of an extremely large impact early in the planets life. The planet is very diverse and have at least 7 prominent large mountain ranges, with scattered plateaus and ridges around.

So cute! But what is the mass, atmo, and gravity? Would it even be possible for a planet this small to have terran features?

Such small terras are a bug. SpaceEngine calculates something incorrectly, probably takes too big initial molar mass of atmosphere, so it can't disappear during billions of years. Smallest terra should be like Mars: 0.1 of Earths's mass and 0.5 of Earth's radius.

Wow what are you driving, a Bugatti Veyron?
at a constant 405 km/h you could do it in 24 hours, providing you have a perfectly smooth asfalt road from end to end.

Using a buggy capable of, say - driving 50 km/h in rough terrain you could do it in 8 days (without sleep). biggrin

Yes.

Ah. My bad, Sir. You must excuse me for my misinformed correcting you in your calculative adventures then.
Good day. *bowes slightly while touching tophat with right hand, then goes fifty feet in southern direction and stabs self honourably with suicide sword.*

Adjust the LOD settings by pressing Ctrl + F4 and move it up gradually once you have the angle you want to take the picture.
