There's clearly a huge difference in a G0-type main sequence star and G9-type main sequence star.
The luminosity difference would be approximately 1 up 2 Solar luminosties for the G0 (depending on metallicity).
And roughly 0.5 up to 1 for the G9 (depending on metallicity). And not to forget mentioning the age.
If you would replace the Sun (approx. 4.54 billion years old) with a G9-type main sequence star at 0.55 Solar luminosity (and 55% metallicity, for example) it would get pretty cold here. Even though they're both yellow dwarfs (I prefer main sequence stars for Sun-like stars and/or Solar-analogs).

| Wow, good job. I find those large rings to bear some resemblance to the atolls of earth, despite them being at least two orders of magnitude larger. The main problems are the shear amount of vulcanism and the immense tidal stress from the large and close moon. A good home on the order of 100,000 years.

| I agree... but compared to the amount of volcanoes on earth, and the fact that there is SNOW on these volcanoes... I don't think volcanoes should be a problem.
For the tides... Maybe that's why there is only one continent XD
