The SpaceEngine website was launched 5 years ago, on 29 March 2011. In the beginning, it was only Russian part of the site, but the English one was added soon after.

First milestone reached - $15,000!
Great news! Crowdfunding for SpaceEngine has reached its first milestone - $15,000. As mentioned on the funding page, this means that I am now able to move away from my day job and start working on SE full time. My hope is that SpaceEngine 1.0 will see light within a year, though the exact time is impossible to know for sure. The next funding milestone is $80,000, which will fund the development of the single-player space exploration game.

SpaceEngine has been Greenlit! A huge thanks to everyone who voted to make this happen. SpaceEngine can now move onto Steam in the future.

    Since July 06, and to July 10 the uCoz data center, where English SpaceEngine site is hosted, was subject to DDoS attack. It has a troubles with access from some network segments (probably, from anywhere except Russia). Now attack is completed, and site works normally. We apologize for the inconvenience.
