Red Atmosphere

This would actually be pretty cool...to have a red colored atmosphere maybe it might belong to terrestrial planets being born around newly formed stars...

That wouldn't be the atmosphere being red, that would be the light being red.

In any case, Titan atmosphere models are already pretty red so some planets have them already. And go look for pretty much any world around a brown dwarf, their atmospheres look quite red.

I hope Space Engineer changes the atmosphere format so you don't need all these models for different colors. I'm not sure if it is possible but I think a better method would be a single atmosphere model that can be scaled to any planetary body and for colors uses a color wheel or a gradient image with multiple colors and hues in between.

Isn't the Mars atmosphere more red than the titan atmosphere? I haven't checked but titan has a purple/blue outer atmosphere, a red orange inner, and on the surface has a greenish hue.

It does have the blue outer part, but it's very faint compared to the very reddish main part (referring to the model here, not the real world). At least on most worlds that I see it used on. It depends on exposure settings and such too I think.

As for Mars, its atmosphere is pretty red too, but it's not more red than Titan, it's just more opaque and easier to see. The Titan model is much more subtle.

Mars looks white for me, why isn't it red? Time of day perhaps?

ed65love, what if looking from the side? Did you enabled autoexposure? Do you know what is the opposition effect?

I've played with autoexposure, and it makes no difference sad

And no, that's new to me, thanks for the link! I'm afraid I'm a bit of a newbie.

Is there any simple way I can make it look redder? Film audiences these days will expect red.

It doesn't have to be deep red, but just some kind of red.

Have you tried playing with the atmosphere settings in the editor? You can temporarily make it as red as you want.

Oh, that sound perfect! I'm not quite sure how to do that.

I presume I mess with Hue, Saturation and Brightness?

Ok, no worries, I've messed around with them, and created a nice gentle reddish tinge.

Thanks again for that suggestion, it's just perfect!

I have to be careful playing with this, it's just so much fun smile

Try enabling "Real Planet Brightness" in the graphics settings.

The top is with the setting enabled, and the one on the bottom is with it disabled which looks like yours.
